On 18 and 19 October 2019, the international conference ‘Research Methods in Film Studies: Challenges and Opportunities’ will take place in Ghent. The conference invites contributions (theoretical discussions, case studies, workshop sessions …) that engage with current methodological challenges and opportunities in Film Studies.

Confirmed keynote speakers are Catherine Grant (Birkbeck, University of London) and Barbara Flueckiger (Zurich University). The symposium is organized by the ECREA Film Studies section, in co-operation with DICIS, Ghent University (Centre for Cinema and Media Studies) and the University of Antwerp (Research Center for Visual Poetics and the Visual and Digital Cultures Research Center).

The conference is sponsored by the Popular Communication division of NeFCA. NeFCA members can participate in the conference at a reduced conference fee of only 30 EUR.
