This summer, the Young Scholars Network offers NeFCA PhD students a chance to update their research skills during a PhD Summer Workshop Day. The workshop takes place on July 4th at the University of Amsterdam (10AM – 6PM).
The day will start with a short introduction to R (10AM – 1PM). Dr. Wouter van Atteveldt and dr. Kasper Welbers (VU Amsterdam) will give a brief introduction to how one can use R in research and will give tips and tricks how to develop R skills further.
In the afternoon, a session on statistics will take place. Dr. Daniel Lakens (TU Eindhoven) will give a workshop on how to improve your statistical inferences and to calculate the required sample size for appropriate statistics power (2PM – 6PM).
The workshop day will finish with networking drinks for participants.
All sessions will be customized according to the knowledge and questions of the participants, so all levels are welcome! NeFCA PhD’s are invited to join both sessions or choose the one most relevant to their research project. Participation is free of charge. More information can be found here.
