On Thursday June 14, 2018, the final event of the AdLit (‘Advertising Literacy’) project on advertising literacy among children and young people was held in Ghent. The event started with a speech by Belgian Deputy Prime Minister Kris Peeters. His speech showed that research on advertising literacy is very topical and necessary.
The project presented a new website that brings together all knowledge gained and tools around advertising literacy. The new website ‘Reclamewijs.be’ aims at young people, parents, education, the advertising sector itself and policymakers, and contains a wealth of material to work on the topic. Next to presenting the new website, the researchers involved in the AdLit project presented their findings on children’s advertising literacy.
The event ended with a poster session, in collaboration with NeFCa, where Flemish and Dutch scientists working on advertising (literacy) and children presented their research to AdLit’s stakeholders.
