Thursday 8th of June, the TWG Human-Machine Communication organized a guided tour in the newly build social Human-Agent and Robot Communication (sHARC) lab which recently opened its doors at Radboud University Nijmegen.

Human-Machine enthusiasts were invited to see which possibilities the lab offers for collaborations and joined projects. Head of the lab, Dr. Roel Boumans, gave a small tour and a demonstration of the possibilities for research with virtual agents and robots. An important purpose of the lab is to evaluate verbal communications with virtual humans within their domestic environment. This environment includes connections to a network of household appliances, in house sensors, and external functions such as generative AI systems.

After the tour, there was time for a small get together to further discuss future research plans in this area. In case you’d like to discuss possible collaborations, please contact Roel.Boumans@ru.nl.
