Young Scholar Network Session – 16 November 2023
The Young Scholars Network (YSN) organized an online workshop on data visualization in R, where former YSN steering committee member Estefanya Vazquez-Casaubon shared her knowledge on ggplot2. Estefanya taught us basic data visualization skills but also shared some more advanced tricks and convenient resources. One of the main takeaways of the workshop was “know your data”, as you need to understand the structure of your data and variables before you can create nice and fitting visualizations.
Around 10 young scholars participated in the online workshop. Everyone learned something new, and we are sure the visualization skills will prove useful in our academic careers.
